February 6, 2013

Look at the 2 babies getting their little bibs put on. Isn't that cute? Will's first time to eat crab. They both need a lesson from the ladies of how to open the shell and get out the meat.

Moritz was feeling guilty because the prices were so expensive. I told him to pick up the tab for everyone if it made him feel better. He didn't feel that guilty. I order water and free bread ( joking). I never pay the tab so it does not bother me. That is Michele's duty.

It was a nice dinner. I have been working a lot lately so it is good to get out sometimes. Will ate so slow though. Crabs are a lot of work with little meat.

Afterwards Moritz treated the late owls with ice cream. He used the poker money that he won from the beach house last weekend which was basically mine. He reminded me of that. Ha ha ha.

I can't wait to beat him in poker and take away play money. Joke will be on him. I will let you know when I do.

February 2, 2013

I am going to change the name of the blog to Moritz mom blog. Taking a pic is hard work and she is the only one who is reading it anyway. Petra, here is Moritz at the school soccer game. It was a close game. They lost though. Moritz passes a lot. I do not know if that is a good or bad.

He did have a good rush to the goal and shot but The goalie caught it. He had soccer on the brain that day. After the game he wore a another soccer jersey around. American kids would wear a football shirt but not Moritz. He is still German.

January 23, 2013

Wow look at my baby. Faith is growing up. This is her in the evening dress for the 8th grade dance. She picked two and luckily this was the one that was half off. She looks beautiful. Now the question is who will be holding her hand. That is the guy who I want to meet.

January 22, 2013

My mommy. She is always good for a good laugh or a frustrating moment. This time it was both. She is moving to a new apartment where we believe she will be happy. Of course is has no money to move in to pay her current but that is different blog.

Anyway today's picture was the end of the apartment set up of my mom win. I had to bribe her to sign the paperwork. Michele called that she needed the paper filled out and that she wanted me to go over with her. I told my mom to sign it and I would give her and Michele 50 bucks each. I won and only gave my mom the mommy. One out of two is not that bad.

January 21, 2013

My dog Poncho. He is so needy. Tonight he played fetch with me. I told him to "Get your toy" and he came back with his two foot bone and dropped it on me. I think he ate his toy He loves to nudge his nose under your hand to signal to pet him. He always needs attention and follows whoever is in the house around. At the beach house he loves to go on the golf cart.

I love to tease him with his treats. It is fun to put his food on his nose and say look stupid.

He is such a good dog.

January 20, 2013

Pictures of the first annual polar bear club. It was cold. Not to me because I did not get in the water. It was cold real cold! James went all the way in. He gets the award.

Nice day. The morning was perfect. Rojan and Moritz went on a jog. In the afternoon, We went to the beach. Later we had a great ending with dinner from the grill. Moritz was of course manned the grill. Rojan made a lemon cake and set the table. Good kids.

Hope took a nap with me before we left. I was out like a light. Faith and Will enjoyed the kids room. They broke it in with the iPads. Michele made her famous dip today it was so good. Nice day other than the 50 emails.

January 19, 2013

We had a late start. We had such good plans to leave early. Rojan had a swim meet on Friday so we decided to leave on Saturday. Of course, a meeting was set on a Saturday morning so I had to delay on start. It was a beautiful day and I called the ferry to check the time. No wait. I ask Moritz if we should go the ferry or the long way. He said the ferry. We stopped at jimmy johns and had some sandwiches. I was on the phone the whole time which is a different story.

We ate and then went to the ferry at which time we waited for over an hour. Thanks Moritz. Take the ferry. Great idea.

However, maybe it was worth it. The dusk was FANTASTIC as you can see from the pics. By the way, Moritz and I watch tv until 3am this morning. I am a little tired.

January 18, 2013

I listen to NPR everyday. In the morning while I am driving to work. I listen to it driving home. I listen to it for 2 hours a day. NPR gives me my news of the day and it has odd stories that I love to listen too. My goal is to be interviewed on NPR Knowing my luck it will be for something that happens not good. I can't wait to hear the story.

January 17, 2013

This is too funny. What a way to wake up. Bong bong bong bong. Now there is Will jumping on the Pojo stick. What have I done! I bought another stick because James wore is out in a few weeks. The new one is cool. It is heavy duty. The old one lost its spring. The new one James jumps so high that he is close to 7 ft. Wow. Little tigger boy.

January 16, 2013

Sushi night. I like sushi and Moritz likes sushi and most importantly sushi is $1 a piece. We drive by Ichiban all the time and we never stop for sushi night. Well, I again had a crappy day at work so I wanted something not from home. Don't get me wrong I like home cooked food, but when you feel bad you want to eat bad, to relax. Some people drink. Some people smoke. I like to go get some good tasting food.

I dragged Faith and Will to join. Faith eats nothing but bread, water and veggies. Will never had sushi before. We had fun. Moritz is so funny.

"Moritz, do you know what tonight is".
"Yes, it is sushi night"
"Have you eaten yet?"
"Yes, but I am still hungry. I can eat so again"
"Let's go"

Faith would not eat cucumber sushi. Too fishy I think she said. She is going to have a hard life. Will had 6 out of 8. Not bad. Moritz did not like the caviar sushi. I thought he was going to throw up. He like everything else. He was tired. I liked it all.

We got our fortune cookies and went home. Now I am helping Michele with her school taxes. I do it at work and home now. Lucky me.

Moritz getting awoke from Braxton.

This morning I woke up and noticed that someone was not in the shower yet. The night before I am not saying that someone asked if a someone could miss school. Anyway I got up to take Poncho out and Braxton just pulled up to take Moritz to school. I got my cozy socks wet to talk to Braxton. I was comfotable too.

I told him that I thought he was sleeping and to wake him up. I had the camera ready for the moment. Braxton knock on his door and walked in. I of course turned on the light. I think Moritz first words were "What time is it, I over slept". Then he noticed I had the camera and said "Paul what are you doing?" I comment back "picture of the day" at that moment he hid from the camera and I took the photo.

He said to "will you take me Paul and do i really have to go". I said I have to go to work and you have to go to school. Hope is sick anyway and why skip a Tuesday. I drove him to school on the cold wet winter day. He was late too. Ha ha ha.

January 14, 2013

Michele, Moritz and Faith had their own plans so the rest of us went to midnight slice. It is a pizza place that cooked pizza in a toaster oven. No joke. It is a odd place where stoners eat pizza after a long night.

January 13, 2013

Odd pic I know. This is the door to what Moritz calls the hobbit room. If it was only round. Last night or really this morning at 1:30 we had Waffle House in Winnie. We worked until midnight. After about five hours sleep we started again on the room. Today Moritz and I installed the installation and Heath and Stuart built the door. The real picture of the day was seeing Moritz with sticky foam in his hair. That is the one benefit of being bald. I am so tired so is Moritz. The room is almost done. The door is very nice.

We had dinner at Tookies. Very good hamburgers. I feel asleep talking to Moritz and woke up talking to Michele. Funny.

January 12, 2013

So many pictures to pick from. Moritz running electricity. He thinks it is hard work. Hard on the knees. The room is only 5'7" tall. Perfect for me. Terrible for everyone else. Next time.

Heath and Stuart building the door. Me playing huckleberry Finn. Heath, Moritz, Stuart come this is fun raising a 150 lb box 8 feet in the air.

This is the one. The last piece to go up before we start installation. It is almost done. The kids are going to love the room. We will too when they are gone from the house.

January 11, 2013

This is here I spend most of my waking day. Kind of sad if you think about it. I do have a view of a window. At first I was jealous that I did not have a window cube, now I glad that I don't. Sometimes I notice the weather changes and if I am lucky I can peep on the lady watching tv across the next building. My cube has a picture of my family, Michele, and my dad's college mug. At one time I had a window office but in reality it is better everyone is together even though my stuff is confidential 99% of the time.

January 10, 2013

The love of my life. Look how beautiful she is in her leopard silk pjs. You would never guess she feel asleep within 5 secs after hitting the bed and snoring like a toad yesterday after date night. Michele is the grease in the wheels in the household. She gets everyone out of the house and off to their busy day. I just learned 5 yrs later how to turn the dishes washer on. No joke. I love you Michele.

January 9, 2013

The present of the year for James. He has worn the pogo stick out in a matter of weeks. The bearing pack has broken. He can jump non stop. He ignores the new bike. The pogo stick was so much better. The best part of it is it is not electronic and keeps him entertained. By the way I don't like his haircut either.

January 8, 2013

Dinner at La Brisa. We love La Brisa because the beef fajitas and that on Tuesdays kids eat for $1. We have to get fajitas for 3 because Moritz eats for 3. When I order fajitas I have to get a side of limes. I can thank a restaurant in Webster for that one.

January 7, 2013

What a great way to start the day. I am welcomed each day with Hope and Faith wishing a great day at work. All of them do it but the girls will kiss me goodbye.

Most of the time Hope blocks the door and won't let me out. This morning Hope heard me opening the garage and ran down to wish me goodbye. I had to make it the pic of the day.

January 6, 2013

Today we braved the elements and went for a ride in the golf cart. It was extra special because Michele drove. That is like me driving if Moritz is around. Very rare. Here we see the famous Back2thebeach sign. It is the best advertisement for little work as possible. We do the 3 clean ups but not that much more. I am glad it is the signpost for those sandcastle people to get in their subdivision.

It was a cold morning. Little James hid his hands to keep warm. Of course, the oldest 2 were on their computers and Moritz slept until noon.

January 5, 2013

The photo changed. First, I had a photo of Moritz and I working on the kids' room. It showed how we worked hard together to accomplish a big project. Male bonding. But.... Now it is a photo of mean Moritz taking my hard earned money in Texas holdem. We had a good game tonight Michele played and threw the game for me to stay in. I think she was really bored. Hope was playing goofy again. Faith gave her money again to get back on the computer. Will tried hard and lost on a good hand ( to me). But in the end, I lost my money and the money I gave Hope, Faith, and Michele to Moritz. He will probably use it for whataburger, sonic or sushi.

January 4, 2013

It's Friday again. Time to go to the beach house. Rain or shine, busy or not, here we cone. This is a picture of the ritual. Kids go get your stuff and put it by the door, we are about to leave. Somehow 4 computers and 2 iPads always go even before jackets on a cold winter day. Spoiled kids. Joke is on them when the Internet service is turned off. Then how would I type my pic of a day. I need to rethink that one.

January 3, 2013

Today's photo is part of the day I look forward to most - Dinner with the family. We take turns saying the prayer starting with me on Monday. I guess we are going to have to keep Moritz or get a replacement exchange kid so Sunday will have someone dedicated to it. We have to have seven. Lately, we have been taking turns discussing each person "picture of the day" in which we always go count clockwise for some reason like the game rummikub. I like tonights additional massage daddy shoulders by Faith. That would be a nice tradition to continue. I am full of knots.

January 2, 2013

After a long day at work, I had a chance to play gin rummy with my oldest Faith. I love playing rummy; it allows me to wind down and holding the cards gives me the feeling of gambling. I used to read my grandfather game books when I was a kid and learned about probability. Gin rummy was the game I played at I was a kid at the YMCA. Good memories.

Faith is really good; though, I beat her twice tonight but she went out on the last game to get the score closer. I taught her well. She calls me a loser when she wins. I am so proud.

January 1, 2013

What a way to start the new year!   Will, Moritz, and I burned the Christmas tree on the beach.  It was a nice fire and I was able to burn the scrap wood from building the secret kids room.

The tree went up fast and first smelled like Christmas when it burned.  Then oddly enough it had the odor of marijuana when the fire started to really go. It was windy and the embers started to blow on the dune so we stamped out the embers in the sand.

Afterwards we shot roman candles and popped firecrackers in the fire.   The picture was taken around 1 am so it technically counts.
